Frequently Asked Questions

Ipswich Skin Cancer Clinic may bulk-bill patients who hold an Aged Pension, Disability Pension, or Gold Veterans Affairs Card for skin checks. Theatre fees may still apply (including for Pension and Health Care Card holders). All other patients are charged a private fee, which may be eligible for a Medicare rebate.

Do I need to make an appointment?

Appointments are necessary; however, feel free to drop in during your shopping time to check availability.

Do you have appointments after school and work hours?

We offer extended hours for your convenience, allowing appointments after school or work. Some treatments, especially skin cancer surgery, are scheduled at designated times and may require taking time off work.

What do you treat?

We deal exclusively with skin cancers and will refer any other conditions back to your regular GP or specialist for ongoing management.

Do you involve my GP?

At your request, a copy of your results can be sent to your GP. Please ask your doctor at the time of your appointment.

Do I need to bring anything to my appointment?

We would appreciate it if you could bring any creams, lotions, or other treatments that you have previously used so that we are aware of past treatments. Please do not wear makeup or apply ointments before your skin check, as this allows us to provide a comprehensive examination of your skin.

If you have any further questions, please contact us and we will be happy to assist.
